To promote best practice in the management of blood and blood products, the National Blood Authority (NBA) hosted a national conference in November 2008. The conference theme Better blood management - what's stopping us? built on the success of the 2006 National Blood Sector Data Workshop which explored best practice in data collection and management across the blood sector. The purpose of the conference was to provide a forum in which leading clinical and administrative practice in utilisation and management of blood, blood products and their alternatives were demonstrated and advanced.
