BloodSTAR Go live update: Northern Territory, South Australia and Queensland Now Live
BloodSTAR is now live in NT, SA and QLD with close to 4000 active patients and 3000 users accessing BloodSTAR as either, Authorisers, Medical Officers or Nurses. Despite a few minor problems that were quickly resolved by the NBA and Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, BloodSTAR is working successfully for all patients and key stakeholders.
“This is the first government IT system that actually saves me time!” Dr Daman Langguth, Clinical Immunologist, SNP in Queensland.
BloodSTAR in NSW: Postponed implementation in NSW
The NSW Ministry of Health and the National Blood Authority have confirmed that the go-live date for BloodSTAR in NSW, tentatively planned for 7 November, has been postponed until a date to be confirmed in 2017. The postponement is necessary because, as yet, specific issues that impact on the implementation of BloodSTAR in NSW have not been resolved. The Ministry of Health and the National Blood Authority are continuing to work towards an acceptable solution. This date change is relevant to all public and private facilities across the State. Further communications will be distributed in the future to outline the new go live date and implementation strategy.
