Who We Are

The National Blood Authority (NBA) is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with all Australian governments and blood sector stakeholders to ensure Australia's blood supply is safe, secure, adequate, and affordable.

We are a statutory agency established by the National Blood Authority Act 2003 (Cth). We operate to achieve the policy objectives outlined in the National Blood Agreement.

We manage and coordinate arrangements for the supply of blood, blood products and blood services in Australia. Under the national blood arrangements, our role is to deliver an uninterrupted supply of blood and blood products to Australians in need.

Being a small agency, employees at the NBA are in a unique position to influence decisions and outcomes for the blood sector and seeing the positive impacts of their work on users of blood products, blood related products and blood related services.

The NBA office is located on Northbourne Avenue in Lyneham and has recently undergone renovations to allow for modern, comfortable office space with the technology needed to collaborate effectively. The office is serviced by the Macarthur Avenue Light Rail stop and has onsite parking available.

The Role

The role will work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and senior internal business stakeholders to build a shared understanding of outcomes. By leveraging your expertise in business planning, financial and resource planning, procurement and operational reporting, you will provide support to the CIO, as well as other team leaders and their respective teams to achieve outcomes.

The role also involves liaison with a range of external stakeholders, particularly ICT suppliers. In delivering the ICT Business Management function within the NBA, you will be expected to work both autonomously and collaboratively providing leadership and support to management, your team and the broader NBA.

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven team player, who is keen to lead and enjoys working in a rapidly evolving and forward-thinking environment. Our ideal candidate will have a strong record in exercising initiative, critical thinking and judgement; in providing detailed professional and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems; in applying strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills; and with excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful applicant will receive a range of formal training and be part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Although not exhaustive, and depending on the role, the duties and responsibilities of this position may include:

1. Provide high level finance, procurement, operational and business management advice across the ITS functions to the NBA executive, CIO, and senior ICT staff

2. Contribute to the strategic direction and leadership of the team, in support of organisational goals
